Tokyo; Tracy He was born (Diane) Powell, on January 7, Seattle, WA; 1922 in Ameri- Shelley Herr can Fork to (Wayne), Harold Overton Cheyenne, WY; and Bessie Con- Douglas der Powell. He (Stephanie) married Gladys. Powell, Salt Mecham in the Lake City; Salt Lake Temple on January 12, 1950. They were the parents of seven children, five boys and two girls.
Gladys preceded him in death on October 16, 1996. On August 15, 1998, he married Mariana Josephine "Jo" Thomas George in the Salt Lake Temple. Harold was raised in Logan and Salt Lake City. He attended BYU, the University of Michigan, University of Utah and Arizona State University. He worked as an architect, a professor of Architectural Engineering at Idaho State University and worked for the LDS Church Architect in Salt Lake City.
Throughout his life, Harold was an active member of the LDS Church. He served as bishop of the Phoenix 11th Ward and served many missions for the church including New England States, Monterey Mexico, Dallas Texas Temple and recently returned from the Madrid Spain Temple with his wife Jo. Harold is survived by his loving wife Jo; twelve children, Bradley (Julie) Powell, Draper; Claudia Linda Wheeler, Orem; Lenora Spencer, Monterey, CA; Lana Johnston (Jack), Yuba City, CA; Bruce George (Sharon), Yuba City, CA; Jeffrie Popovich (Bruce), Yuba City, CA; 49 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren, two brothers, Gene (Renae) and Theo (Ruth), and three sisters, Georgia Dalton, Lavone Stokes, and Maridean Bean (Hardy). In addition to his wife Gladys, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two granddaughters. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, October 20, 2001 at the Sunset Hills Ward, 939 N. 540 West, in American Fork. A viewing will be held at the church from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, October 19th and one hour prior to services where friends and family may call. Interment: Orem City cemetery.

10-6 Sat. 10-5 What? OBITUARIES, MORE ON A8 Bessie 86, died Highland Center in Lake City, Utah. She born August 1915 to William and Edna field Jones Enterprise, Utah. Jones Pierce Allen, age October 12, 2001 at the Care Salt was 3, Henry Canin married Guy B. Pierce on December 12, 1934 in Salt Lake City.
They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Guy preceded her in death in 1963. Later she married Byard N. Allen who also preceded her in death. Bessie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various auxiliary positions.
Her interest were her family and neighbors, quilting, sewing and handwork, traveling, rock collecting and ceramics. Bessie lived most of her life in the Edgemont and Provo Canyon areas, She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, neighbor and friend. She is survived by her children: Gary Pierce, Salt Lake City; Patricia (Pat) Jarvis, Mesa, Arizona; Jennie Jones, Draper, Utah; step-son, LaMonte Allen. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and foster children. Nine bothers and sisters: Amanda Fawcett, Leslie Jones, Ruth Lang, Fern Godard and John Jones.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Dixie Pierce and step-daughter, Miriam Shrewsbury. She was also preceded in death by Viola Taylor, France Jones and Kenneth Jones. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Berg Mortuary Drawing Room Chapel, 185 E. Center Street, Provo, Utah.

He was born March 5, 1933 in Fairview, Utah to Ernest Leon and Fawn Madsen Howell, the youngest of three sons.
He lived in Fairview until the age of seven when he and his family relocated to Salt Lake City. Jerry graduated from South High School in 1951. He served his country during the Korean War years in the U. S. Air Force, finishing out his time at March Air Force Base in Southern California.
He and his eternal sweetheart. Patricia Ann Mollerup were married April 20, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS temple by Apostle LeGrand Richards. Together they raised six, most wonderful kidlets: Dawn, Robin, Brook, Marlin, Sterling and Heather. Following graduation from the of in 1962, the young couple returned to California where Jerry started his career in City Planning. The cities of San Jose, Mountain View, Tracy, and Escondido benefited greatly from his planing expertise.
Jerry and his growing family returned to Utah in 1972 when Jerry accepted employment with Provo City as its first Community Development Director. Shirley Elizabeth Robertson, age 50 of Springville, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2001 after a valiant fight with lung cancer. She was born January 22, 1951 in Elkins, West Virginia to Commodore 4, Salt Perry, Jr. and Lima Jean Johnston Stalnaker. She married Blaine H. Robertson on March 27, 1971 in Las Vegas, NV.
Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on July 8, 1981. Shirley was a loving and dedicated mother who enjoyed being surrounded with family and friends and was nominated as Utah County Mother of the Year in 1989. She enjoyed her work with the children at the Utah State Hospital for the last 10 years. She looked forward to yearly family fishing trips and held numerous church callings throughout her lifetime.
